I’m writing this from the prospective of someone that is unsure about doing the course like I was at the beginning. Just do it!!!! You won’t regret it. The course is put together extremely well for you to learn everything you need to know. Stu the teacher is extremely knowledgeable and funny. He has good attention to details and his hospitality is second to none. I just can’t fault him to be honest. The course goes really quickly and you will learn so much in the space of 9 days. At the end of the course you will feel so rewarded and every doubt you had in your mind about tiling clears away. Highly recommend it and If you don’t jump, you will never fly.

Started the 9 day course 10th may 2022. Firstly the whole course was set out first class and presented by Stuart with excellence. He made us feel relaxed throughout the course with no pressure. I have learned a lot about tiling on the course and feel confident in working in the industry now.. the facilities are great with plenty of tea coffee biscuits available throughout the day… I would highly recommend The Tiling academy to anyone interested in starting in the industry even if you have never laid a tile in life.

I did the 9 day professional tiling course. A very enjoyable and rewarding course. I fully recommend it. From being a novice I learnt how to prepare, measure, cut and apply tiles and trims to walls and floors. Also learnt how to "tank", level a floor with screed and how to install underfloor heating. Stu imparted his experience throughout and provided a short theory session daily. We then worked practically ourselves in our own invidual bay throughout the day carrying out what was learnt. A great way to learn with Stu always available as needed. I now feel capable of tiling own kitchen and from there intend to work in the field. Brilliant course. I thought the course was well paced starting at a very basic level which would suit most. I had completed several small tiling jobs myself, however there was information I didn’t know from day one. The atmosphere was warm and friendly every day and I really enjoyed being there and would attend a longer course if it were an option. Stu and Jay are the main tutors. Friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. Would recommend to anybody looking to change career or take on bigger projects at home.

9 day tiling course Couldn’t recommended this course anymore, 9 days seems a short time on paper however it is an incredibly dense and professionally ran course. Guiding some people with absolutely no experience from unable to even cut a tile on day one to being able to tile onto and around anything on day nine, including the knowledge to tackle things like ‘tanking’ ‘underfloor heating’ etc and everything else from tools to pricing with some even having paid tiling jobs on day ten !! The knowledge from stu and his son jay, and the support from themselves and the rest of his family is second to none. If you’re thinking of a career change, sharpening up some skills or just want to master a new skill Then there is literally nowhere in the country that will deliver this level Of skills, knowledge and support like the tiling academy will. Book a slot, you won’t regret it !

It’s a great setup there - a good mix of theory and cracking on with it. I can't recommend The Tiling Academy enough. If you're looking to start career or even change career to become a tiler. The course is run by Stu, an all round nice bloke (helped by Cheryl and Jay, also nice!) who has been in the industry for years. Each day starts with an hour or so in the classroom talking about what is going to be done that day and giving the theory instructions. A lot of time is spent on guidance on setting out, probably the most important element of tiling. After that its straight into the well appointed practical area with your own individual booth. Stu is on hand for advice/guidance and any queries you have. A short stop for lunch then back on it, tiling walls, corners, recesses and windows. It's a fantastic course, I'd done a bit of tiling but wanted to know how to do it properly. It gave me the confidence I needed to 'go for it' and 3 weeks after the course I'm now a self employed tiler working on both private work and as a sub-contractor for a local building firm. Don't delay, do it today!

The course is very well structured with nothing too much trouble. I attended the course to hopefully learn enough to start my own business and give me the confidence to get out there and give it a go which is what it has done. I spent 9 days in March, with Stu and the team at the academy. I had a great time and learned so much. All the team are friendly approachable and flexible. The info you get is from an experienced domestic and commercial tiler, not from someone who has read the books and followed a power point. You'll get an incite into how the business works and how customers behave and what they expect.It is a very hands on course, which is pretty intense, cramming as much into the time as possible.
I would whole heartedly recommend this course.

Just completed the 9 Day Professional Wall and Floor Tiling training course and it was absolutely fantastic. The course is run from a great facility with real world scenarios you’d face as a tiler. Lots of time hands on with the equipment so you’ll feel confident at the end of the course to go out and earn money as a ruler. Stu the lead instructor is very knowledgeable, with lots of experience which he is able to draw from when providing training and instruction. The course is great value for money and you’ll enjoy every moment.

Fantastic course, stu, Cheryl and Jay were fantastic and Really informative. I had never put a tile on before and after doing the 9 day course am now caple of doing a full patterned bathroom. The course is sometimes intense as you are hands on from the first minute, but that is because there is so much to get through, (everything is done at your own pace) We learned about measuring up, pricing jobs, using angle grinders, laser levels, mixing adhesive, tanking, underfloor heating, company names, etc. They really do go the extra mile at the tiling academy and it was a pleasure to learn from them. The course was an incredibly comprehensive 9 days worth of learning. It was good to be so hands on so soon and being taught good habits and techniques right from the off was very helpful. I really feel what I have learnt from The Tiling Academy has given me an excellent foundation to start tiling as a profession by myself. I attended the 9 day course last week. At first, I was apprehensive having never tiled, or even really shown much interest. However, it became incredibly enjoyable and highly rewarding. I now feel very confident on taking on any aspect of tiling. I have already completed a few small projects and intend to continue to build furthermore, bearing in mind I only originally attended the course to do something different which would benefit me improving my own properties. The team were great and very patient with the progress made, yet continued to push us and offer guidance where required which was really appreciated. The course was exhausting, but this I feel is a massive positive as we covered a great deal. If anyone, is attending the course during the summer I’d advise on taking a change of tops due to the amount of perspiration. Furthermore, I feel on completing the course that I can call /email the academy for guidance on any future challenges I may have on some projects, which is also re-assuring. Great course, highly recommend to all 👍

Downside is I’m noticing just how bad the tiling is in my own property but on the plus side I now know I can confidentially re-tile it to a much better standard. This was an excellent 9 day course. We laid so many tiles in different sizes and shapes in different patterns. I must say from never using an angle grinder before I can now cut around basically any obstacle in front of me. The course uses brand new tiles out the box and simulates real life situations like a bathroom, splashback, floor tiling, mosaics, wet room tanking, Under floor heating, enveloping falls into shower trays and importance of grouting. Plus loads more. Ive since bought myself a laser and a washboy and i am soooo much more quicker and confident now than before. You do loads of tiling and its quite demanding but you get through it and its well worth the money. Nice cert and free tub of adhesive at the end. Many Thanks to Stu and the Academy. Nate.
