Terms and conditions

Your Rights to Cancel Internet or telephone Bookings Only

When booking a course via the telephone or over the Internet, it is deemed by law to be a booking by distance, which is subject to the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation & Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (Distance Selling Regulations).

The Regulations will not apply to any courses booked in person at any of our offices. The Regulations allows you 14 days starting on the next day in which you entered the agreement (booking) to cancel the agreement contract with a full refund of any monies paid by you, this is called the Cooling Off Period.

Booking a course that commences within the 14 day Cooling Off Period means that the Regulations will not apply and you will therefore be giving up your right to cancel the booking agreement. Any money paid will therefore not be subject to a refund upon your cancellation. We will accept an initial email notifying us of any cancellation but this must then be confirmed by letter to the below head office address.

Any trade or Commercial bookings made by businesses rather than individual consumers will be deemed to amount to a business to business transaction in which case the Regulations will not apply to.

Course Cost

The Tiling Academy Ltd. Full cost of 4 day course is £599, 9 Day £1499, If you are paying by cheque, A temporary booking will be made until the cheque has been received. Temporary reservations will be held for 2 days, a confirmed booking will be made once the cheque has cleared.

Cancellation

If you cannot attend your confirmed booking date for any reason whatsoever and you wish to cancel or decide not to start your course, any monies paid for your course will be non refundable, if you cancel more than 28 days before your agreed start date, course fees are non refundable but you will be allowed one transfer to another date within 3 months of the original course.

If you cancel less than 28 days before your agreed course date, any monies paid for the courses are non refundable and no alternative dates will be offered.

We must receive written cancellation to our head office of any cancelled course within the relevant period. If for any reason we have to cancel a course, alternative dates will be offered or you can request your course fees to be refunded.

Once you have started your course with The Tiling Academy Ltd and choose not to complete it for any reason whatsoever, you cannot complete the remaining days at a later date, you will not be reimbursed of any monies you have paid for the course.

Health And Safety

The Tiling Academy Ltd operates a strict health and safety policy and personal protection equipment will be provided, gloves, safety glasses etc. You are responsible to provide your own footwear protection on your course.

There will be a health and safety induction on the first morning of your course.

The Tiling Academy Ltd accepts no responsibility for any injury caused by not wearing the correct and proper equipment provided on the course unless it is caused by the negligence of any of our staff.

No disruptive behaviour will be tolerated in any form; anybody in breach of our conditions may result in immediate ejection from the course without reimbursement.

The Tiling Academy Ltd is not responsible for any loss or damage to your own personal property. You must notify us of any learning or physical disabilities you have on the first morning or prior to your course start date.

Please note that the advice, written / verbal information, demonstrations, DVD or any other content contained download or the accompanying materials (Media Content) produced by The Tiling Academy Ltd and any successors or assigns of the same or any of its members, directors, agents servants and employees (each an Affiliate) is purely intended as general advice and guidance only and is not a substitute for specific tailored professional advice and nothing contained in the Media Content shall create a legal relationship between us (whether by way of a duty of care or otherwise). The Tiling Academy Ltd shall also not be liable to you or any other person for any indirect or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to loss of profit, business, revenue, goodwill or anticipated savings) or any liability arising as a result of any term implied by common law or statute, order, regulation or any other enactment. Any user of these products assumes and takes all responsibility for their actions, whether or not they result from the demonstrations or advice given from Media Content. The Media Content should not be regarded as specific advice (whether as to technical matters, health and safety matters or otherwise) and when following any of the demonstrations or working on any of your own DIY or professional jobs, users are reminded to take specific bespoke advice tailored to their own particular circumstances and requirements. You shall at all times remain responsible for:
(a)deciding on your use of, choosing to what extent you wish to rely on, or implementing advice or recommendations or other product of the Media Content supplied by us;
(b)the delivery, achievement or realization of any benefits directly or indirectly intimated in the Media Content;
And any advice, option, statement of expectation or recommendation supplied by us through the Media Content shall not amount to any form of guarantee in respect of the achievement of a particular outcome or result. Our aggregate liability to you and to any other person, in contract tort or otherwise for any loss or damage suffered by you (or by any such other party) arising from or in connection with the Media Content, however the loss or damage is caused, including our negligence but not our fraud or other deliberate breach of duty shall be limited to the amount paid by you for the relevant Media Content. The Tiling Academy ltd shall have no liability whatsoever to any person for any kind of loss, damage or expense, however occurring or incurred whether indirect or direct resulting from your participation on any of our training courses. The Tiling Academy Ltd liability in any event, except for death or any personal injury resulting from its negligence, or for its own fraud or that or any of its employees shall at all times be limited to the total amount of fees paid by yourself for participating in the course.
No guarantee of future success
Completion of the course does not guarantee your competence to perform work or your ability to gain employment. The Tiling Academy Ltd does not guarantee employment and we make no representation to your suitability of employment. Any statement made to you at any time by The Tiling Academy Ltd from any of its directors, course tutors or members of staff regarding the likelihood of you obtaining any kind of employment and/or your potential earnings shall be treated as a matter of opinion and not representation and shall be non-binding.

Data Protection

The Tiling Academy Ltd may use your data for admin purposes and may keep this information safely for a period of time, by booking a course you have given your consent to The Tiling Academy Ltd doing so. The Tiling Academy Ltd may contact you by telephone, email, post mail to let you know about any relative information, which might be of interest to you. If you do not wish to receive contact such, postal mails or emails, SMS or by mobile telephone please let us know on the email address below and state you would like to opt out.
We sometimes take photos throughout the course of learners work and may use them for our marketing purposes such as use on our website or Facebook page, again if you do not wish to be contacted or your images to be used please let us know by email to enquiry@thetilingacademyltd.com and state that you would like to opt-out from any of the above.

BY AGREEING TO A BOOKING OF A COURSE WITH THE TILING ACADEMY LTD CONFIRMS THAT YOU AGREE AND UNDERSTAND OUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS ABOVE.
