You may or not be aware of all the changes coming into effect as of Jan 2025. In brief you won't be able to work on site as a tiler with a red or green card as of Feb 2025. You will need a skilled worker card and the easiest and quickest way is to obtain one is to gain an NVQ level 2 in wall and floor tiling. The CSCS card will soon be no more, Grandfather Rights will be abolished and a new Professionally Qualified Person Card will be taking it place. This is a similar card although you will not be able to get one for Tiling unless you have the relevant NVQ. Why wait, get on it early and enrol with us. We aim to make the whole process as simple and hassle free to get you to your NVQ quickly. We also offer something no one else does in that we can get you a temporary Red CSCS card just to get you on site working whilst you obtain your qualification.

The way it will work in simple terms is that I as the assessor will gather information in various ways such as pictures, videos, witness statements and basic observation methods and evidence from you until you have satisfied the assessment criteria. The course is normally completed in 4 to 10 weeks, (possibly sooner depending on yourself) Once we have the information and all the boxes are ticked you will become certified. as long as you have passed the CITB online Health & safety test you can then apply for your new Card (which will be a Blue CSCS card - skilled person before Jan 2025 Or the new Professional qualified Person card should it be Post Feb 2025.

We can also offer you something no one else does. We can issue you a temporary Red CSCS Card to get you on site whilst you complete your NVQ with us. Once you have obtained your NVQ with us you will then be entitled to a Blue Skilled worker card or equivalent once the changes come into effect.

We predict a massive surge in tradesman needing the NVQ Level 2 in all trades just to be able to work on site once there has been an official press release and I encourage you to get yours in early. Already other assessors have stopped taking on new clients due to numbers. whether you are a past student with ourselves or someone who has been working as a tiler for many years and require the NVQ please get in touch so we can get you on board and look at a fast tracking option if its suitable. Although most students don't have many years of Tiling experience don't worry you have come to the right place I can still help you to obtain your NVQ and become officially qualified. A qualification which will last you a lifetime and is nationally recognised.

I've noticed recently more and more of us are being asked by customers if we have an a Blue CSCS card, or have we got an and NVQ or if we are "qualified". I know locally already certain organisations who carry out tiling work for the council and take on site work have signed up to agree only to have NVQ accredited tradesmen or tilers on their books. Although most of you won't have many years of tiling experience, I can help you obtain your NVQ and become officially qualified. The good news is that there will be very little written work involved and mostly completed via your online E-Portal. There will be many resources online available to you plus I will be available to coach and support you through the whole process. It's not ideal to do your coursework on your smartphone and access to a laptop or PC is best practice.

If you're not enrolled already, why go with us? We have already met and hopefully you are very comfortable with me as your teacher and as your assessor. We have the advantage of already witnessing you do lots of tiling here at the Tiling Academy therefore we may already be able to fulfil certain criteria. Also, unlike other providers, we have the advantage of using the Tiling Academy should we need to simulate certain modules such as mosaics or even laying travertine or marble for example, or any areas of tiling work you may not come across very often. I want to help you achieve your qualification and to make the whole process of obtaining your NVQ as straight forward as possible. Not all of us are academically gifted therefore I aim to simplify the whole process for you avoiding using unnecessary jargon.

Remember the advantage we have is that any simulations that are needed for example such as installing expansion joints, installing and tiling over UFH or even laying Herringbone then we have the Tiling Academy, you can simply attend, and evidence can be gathered. We also have lots of evidence already that can be used as many of you I have coached and observed over 4 or 9 days already tiling. This gives us a massive head start when it comes to gathering evidence.

The cost of the NVQ Level 2 in Wall & Floor Tiling is £999 and you can pay monthly at 10 x £99 per month.
